Collection of Actinomycetes

What do we offer

We are preserving actinomycetes which were isolated from unique habitats and clinical specimens. All strains do not violate The Nagoya Protocol on Access and Benefit-sharing.

Cultures are maintained in different types of storage:

  •  Glycerol stocks (-80 °C)
  •  Cryopreservates in DMSO (-150 °C)
  •  Freeze-dried cultures

The CCA offers actively growing cultures on Petri dishes or freeze-dried cultures from the catalogue. According to your needs, we may provide genomic DNA of selected strains in desired quality and quantity.

In addition, we offer the preparation of freeze-dried cultures of your strains on request.

How to order:

1)    If you are interested in strains from the Culture Collection of Actinomycetes (CCA), please contact the curator first to check the availability of the services offered. Please clearly indicate the number of strains you are interested in, their BCCO numbers and the form you require (genomic DNA, actively growing culture, glycerol stock or lyophilized culture). The delivery time depends on the quantity of samples ordered and the desired form. Please note that the strains in our collection are mostly slow growing, which may result in a longer delivery time.

2)    To save time, you can use the cart tool available in the culture catalogue (aka shopping cart): add the strains you are interested in to the cart, export the cart and send it to the collection curator.

3)    After the curator replies, you can place a firm order via Order form and signed Material Transfer Agreement (MTA). These two documents must be sent to the curator.
